Top Cosmetic Surgery Procedures Revealed

Each year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reveals the most popular surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures in the United States. 2018 saw a dramatic increase of around a quarter of a million more cosmetic procedures than were performed in 2017, bringing the total number of procedures to over 17.7 million. The big trend in cosmetic surgery was body-shaping, with increases in both surgical and minimally invasive procedures.

Here’s how the Top 5 in each category ‘ahem’ shaped up for 2018.

The ASPS tracked around 15.9 million cosmetic minimally-invasive procedures in 2018, including:

  1. 7.44 million Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox) procedures
  2. 2.68 million Soft Tissue Fillers procedures
  3. 1.38 million Chemical Peel procedures
  4. 1.1 million procedures Laser hair removal procedures
  5. 709,413 Microdermabrasion procedures

The ASPS also reported more than 1.8 million cosmetic surgical procedures performed in 2018, including:

  1. 313,735 Breast augmentation procedures
  2. 258,558 Liposuction procedures
  3. 213,780 Nose Reshaping procedures
  4. 206,529 Eyelid Surgery procedures
  5. 130,081 Tummy Tuck procedures
